Have your roughage analysed and receive tailored nutritional advice from our alpaca vet.
Our customers throughout Europe regularly ask how much of which products should be given to their animals. In the veterinary practice, where we can evaluate the alpacas/llamas and the roughage (hay) at the breeder’s site, it is possible to provide approximate nutritional advice for different animal groups. From a distance however, this is very difficult because we do not see the animals, and we also have no information about the quality of the available roughage.
Roughage should make up at least 70% of the total ration for alpacas and llamas. Because there is so much variation between different types of hay and between the needs of different animal groups, it is difficult to give nutritional advice without looking at the animals and their environment on the farm. This is why we offer you the option of Hay Analysis & Nutritional Advice. You will receive advice from us about the ideal composition of the ration for your animals based on an extensive hay analysis. This is available for lactating mares, heavily pregnant mares, foals and yearlings, and animals in the maintenance phase (= adult stallions and geldings, adult non-lactating and non-highly pregnant mares).
